Paul Willson from the Nyama Sangha group invites you to a performance of his original composition, a Buddhist-themed solo cello suite “From Suffering to Freedom” on August 2nd at 730 pm at Reed Square in Churchill, 110 N 26th Street, Richmond VA. The piece will be performed by Schuyler Slack, a cellist in the Richmond Symphony. Paul has been a practitioner at Ekoji since 2008. (Hear a short excerpt from the piece.) Ekoji Buddhist Sangha is the nonprofit sponsor of the composition and performance, as recipient of a grant from the Alan and Margot Blank Foundation, which funds chamber music in Richmond.

Insight on the Inside (IOI), cofounded by Carolyn Stachowski in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, has expanded to greater Richmond! IOI has gathered a small group of volunteers to co-teach mindfulness and meditation skills to incarcerated persons at the Richmond City Justice Center. IOI is seeking donations of gently used household items and clothing for their upcoming fundraising yard sale in the Fan District the weekend of October 10th and 11th (more details forthcoming).
