You can support Ekoji Buddhist Sangha by helping out around the building, becoming a member and, of course, making a donation.
Dana: Generosity brings happiness at every stage of its expression. We experience joy in forming the intention to be generous. We experience joy in the actual act of giving something. And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given. — the Buddha
Donate
Ekoji relies on donations to maintain the building, make offerings to visiting teachers, buy supplies, pay utilities—for everything that keeps us going. Ekoji Buddhist Sangha is a religious, non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible.
Become a member
Membership in Ekoji Buddhist Sangha is open to all persons who earnestly seek to practice and study Buddhist teachings, without regard to race or ethnicity, country of origin, religion, age, ability, socioeconomic status, political stance, gender identity or sexual orientation.
Q: Why should I be a member at all?
A: Ekoji relies entirely on voluntary contributions of time and money from committed members.
Q: What if I’m already part of a group meeting at Ekoji? (For example, a member of Richmond Zen)
A: You can be a member of both, or one or the other. Keep in mind, though, that membership in an individual group does not give you the privileges of Ekoji membership.
Q: How much should I pay?
A: There is no set amount for dues or pledges for Ekoji members. Each member decides what they can give based on their own circumstances. Most members find a regular monthly donation most manageable, but, again, the frequency of your donations is up to you.
Q: Once I sign up, how long am I a member?
A: Term of membership is from July 1 to June 30. We’ll ask that you re-enroll each year in order to keep our membership role up to date. (Don’t worry—we send out reminders!)
There are two kinds of participation: Associate and Member. Each reflects different levels of commitment and support.
